The new season also added plenty of stuff in between those new places, most notably the bunkers littering the map that contain three rare chests, a half-dozen weapon cases, and a mod bench.

These changes mean most of our favorite landing spots from Season 1 aren’t ideal anymore, but that’s okay–we’ve found some new ones. With that change, the clubhouse is the best place to land–you’ll have plenty of loot for the squad, there are two slurp kegs and two slap kegs in the back, and, most importantly, you’ll actually have cover.

Alternative: the nearby train station

The train station just southwest of Classy Courts has a similar amount of loot as the clubhouse, plus a vending machine and a mission board (whatever the new mission things are called), and you’ll be a little further from the action if things are particularly spicy.

On the boss trigger at Brawler’s Battleground

I’ve gotten fond of triggering the boss fights as soon as possible at any of the big new locations that have them–not to fight them immediately, but rather to add a chaotic wild card to the equation right off the bat. But it’s a more effective tactic at Brawler’s Battleground than the other spots because the fight happens right in the open in the middle of the location (unlike at Underworld or Mount Olympus), and all the NPC enemies have guns (unlike the wolves at the Grim Gate). This move will absolutely get you killed sometimes, but there’s a good chance you’ll have a wild ride as long as you focus on the real players and don’t fall for your own trick.

Alternative: the little house down the hill to the west

Ares is a popular target because his mythic Warforged AR is just as dope as Nisha’s win-button of a gun was last season. If you want a peaceful landing, this is where you should look. As a bonus, the hireable Aphrodite NPC lives at the restaurant by the train station, and she’s one of those who will periodically heal you with Chug Splashes. But right smack between these two locations is that drone factory. It’s not nearly as good of a spot as it was when the Underground base was across the street, but that change has turned an unusually popular drop spot into a totally deserted one.
