How To Complete Fortnite’s Secret Star Wars Story Quests
Everything about Fortnite battle royale is different in the game’s first-ever Star Wars season–just look at the new loot pool, which is entirely made up of energy weapons that don’t use ammo, something Fortnite has never done before. Another fun quirk is that the story quests for Star Wars season don’t hold your hand quite as much as the story quests usually do. In fact, the game doesn’t even tell you what the quests are–it just mentions that there are quests, and puts a lot of circles on the updated map to indicate the general area where you can find them. Like this:

Since the quests are hidden, it can be tough to tell how many there even are or whether you’ve done everything that’s currently available. If you’re trying to be efficient with your leveling, trying to do these quests might be a little bit irritating. But don’t worry, we’ve got all the details you need for this first round of seasonal storytelling.
The season began with five story quests, and then three more were added a week later on May 9 when new NPCs were added to the island. So let’s go through them.
- Where to find Fortnite’s Star Wars story quests
- Poe Dameron quest: Blow up stuff with an X-Wing
- Deliver a Jedi Padawan lightsaber to General Grievous
- Repair a damaged TIE Fighter
- Retrieve stormtrooper data logs
- Retrieve Rebel data logs
- Leia quest: Investigate why the Empire is here
- Luke quest: run through a training course
- Han quest: damage things and fight stormtroopers
Where to find Fortnite’s Star Wars story quests
Poe Dameron quest: Blow up stuff with an X-Wing

First up is Poe Dameron’s quest to destroy objects with an X-Wing’s lasers. The first thing you’ll need to do is find Poe at the Resistance Base in the northwest corner of the map, where Whiffy Warf used to be. Talk to him at the marked location above to activate the quest, and then use any X-Wing on the island to blow up 25 objects. The Resistance Base is home to a couple of them–but they’re all broken, so you’ll need to find one elsewhere. Once you’ve completed the object, return to Poe to close out the quest, and he’ll reward you with a very nice weapon. This quest is repeatable in future matches.
Deliver a Jedi Padawan lightsaber to General Grievous
After that we have a quest to deliver a lightsaber to General Grievous, which you’ll need to activate by chatting with the evil cyborg–he’s hanging out midway between Seaport City and Masked Meadows, just north of the old black market outpost. Once you’ve started the quest, you just need to retrieve a padawan lightsaber and bring it back to him. The easiest way to do this is to visit a training hologram of a light side Star Wars character and have them train you and give you a saber, but looting one off an enemy player should also work. But it needs to be a Padawn lightsaber specifically–Grievous doesn’t want red lightsabers. Once you’ve returned a padawan lightsaber to Grievous, the quest is done, and you’ll receive a mythic marksman rifle. While the XP reward is a one-time thing, Grievous is always happy to accept more lightsabers in future matches in exchange for his mythic rifle.
Repair a damaged TIE Fighter
Next up is a mission to repair a damaged TIE Fighter that’s lying on its side next to the road just south of Flooded Frogs. When you arrive at the spot, the first thing you’ll need to do is click on the terminal that will be marked with a quest icon when you get close enough. Then you’ll need to gather three barrels of fuel, which are nearby and similarly marked, then click on the TIE itself to get it working again. When you’re done, you’ll have a working TIE Fighter that you can fly around in.
Retrieve stormtrooper data logs
The fourth quest is to click on a series of four stormtrooper data logs, all of which are located at Vader Samurai’s Solitude in the southwest corner of the island. When you’re in that place, the locations of the datalogs will be marked on your mini-map and will also show up in the general UI, so they won’t be too difficult to find.
Retrieve Rebel data logs
Lastly, we’ve got a quest to click on four Rebel data logs, which are more spread out than the stormtrooper ones. One is just to the northwest of Brutal Boxcars, one is near the previously discussed broken TIE Fighter south of Flooded Frogs, one is in the Resistance Base, and the last one is on a road intersection next to the Burd station midway between Shiny Shafts and the Resistance Base.
Leia quest: Investigate why the Empire is here
Princess Leia is now hanging out at the Rebel camp near Brutal Boxcars, and she’s got a quest for you to look into why the Empire has decided to invade the Fortnite island. To do this, you’ll need to hike up the mountain to the southeast of Brutal Boxcars, to food truck court next to that wrecked walker that’s been turned into a restaurant.
There will be a marker on the turret on the side of the walker’s head, which you can click to make it blast open a hole in a rock wall nearby, revealing a secret room full of loot. You’ll need to click on an Imperial console inside the cave to complete the objective, and then return to Leia to end the quest.
Luke quest: run through a training course
Luke Skywalker is hanging out at a Rebel outpost just to the south of the Resistance Base, and he’s got an obstacle course for you to run to prove that your fit for Force training. There’s nothing particularly difficult or confusing about this one–just follow the course, which you’ll mostly need to do on foot rather than in a vehicle, and it will take you in a big loop right back to Luke. When you’re done, click on Luke to finish it up.
Han quest: damage things and fight stormtroopers
Han Solo is hanging out at the bar in the center of the Outpost Enclave in the southeastern corner of the map, and he’s got two completely random tasks for you to do. The first is to damage structures from more than 22 meters away, which you can accomplish by shooting any building. Then you have to kill five stormtroopers that are hanging out at the various Imperial outposts next. And once you’re done with that, return to Han to complete the quest.
Those are all the story quests you can do right now, but there will be many more as the season moves along–expect more story quests on a weekly basis.
