The Lord Of The Rings: Heroes Of Middle-earth, A New RPG, Is Out Now

EA and Capital Games are bringing Middle-earth to mobile devices today, as the new turn-based RPG The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is available now on iOS and Android devices.

Heroes of Middle-earth will give players the opportunity to play through some of The Lord of the Rings saga’s most iconic scenes–from meeting the elves of Rivendell to the fight against the Nazgul at Weathertop–through story-based missions spanning the entire franchise. Orcs, trolls, and more can be fought with teams made up of LOTR’s most famous faces, with Gandalf The Grey and Frodo Baggins specifically named so far.

Players can use each character’s unique skill set to build a team exactly to their liking before setting out on a new mission. Characters can also be customized using abilities and gear, which will be both earned as rewards throughout the game and available via in-app purchases.

The game will also see regular content updates, which will include new characters, new story-based missions that will allow players to “explore Middle-earth with both friend & foe.” No specific events have been revealed as of yet.

The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is available to download now for free on both iOS and Android devices. The game is being developed by Capital Games, whose previous games include another mobile RPG: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
