Genshin Impact 3.8 Update Launches Next Month, First Look At Fontaine Region Revealed

HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact version 3.8 Secret Summer Paradise will release on July 5, and it has shared the first look at the Nation of Fontaine.

The 3.8 reveal trailer showed off everything players can expect when the update launches next month, including a brand-new limited-time area called Veluriyam Mirage just in time for summer. This area is filled with forested valleys, dark caves, and a myriad of amusement facilities, and can be explored with two open-world modes: the Choo-Choo Cart and Preprint mode.

The first ferries passengers throughout the area with a roller-coaster experience, while the latter teleports people into a two-dimensional world to unlock hidden puzzles and treasures. While exploring the Veluriyam Mirage, players can collect Joyeux Vouchers to redeem various rewards, including Kaeya’s new outfit.

Four special events can also be found in the area–which offer more bonus rewards, including the chance to recruit Layla for free–such as Spino Blaster, Dance of Flashing Thought, Sojourns of the Barking Fox, and Bing-Bang Finchball, each with their own unique challenges.

Of course, with every major update comes a new Event Banner, and 3.8 will reintroduce Klee and Eula in the first half of the update, followed by Sangonomiya Kokomi and Wanderer. Alongside the earnable Kaeya outfit, players can get their hands on Klee’s summer-themed fit, too.

New content is also coming to Genius Invokation TCG–Genshin Impact’s card game–including a new PvE mode called The Forge Realm’s Temper: Endless Swarm, which features endless waves of enemies within a limited number of rounds. Three new Character Cards: Candace, Yanfei, and Kaedehara Kazuha, will also be added.

Following the Special Program, HoYoverse went on to unveil one minute of footage of the Nation of Justice: Fontaine. Fontaine is the next major area yet to be released and will be the fifth region to be introduced in Teyvat. The developer revealed a sneak peek at the urban views of the Nation, with footage showcasing the winding streets of the Fleuve Cendre and citizens with their own distinct styles of dress. There’s also a massive water bridge overlooking rocky cliffs, with what looks to be a transport for easy access, as well as a sewage system, and underwater exploration featuring a new mechanic.

Specific details on Fontaine have yet to be revealed and a specific launch date hasn’t been announced. Inazuma launched back in July 2021, followed by Sumeru in August 2022. It’s possible Fontaine could receive a similar release window, perhaps in late August.
