EA Sports Is Doing Something It’s Never Done Before
EA Sports has announced a deal with Major League Soccer to bring live soccer matches to EA Sports FC Mobile. Four games in the 2025 MLS regular season will be streamed through the mobile game’s FCM TV portal. This will be a live simulcast with Apple TV, where MLS games also air.
The first game is Saturday, May 10, with the matchup between LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls, beginning at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET. The other games are May 17 (Atlanta United FC vs. Philadelphia Union) and two to be held in September with matchups set to be announced later.

In all cases, EA Sports FC Mobile players can visit the Football Centre in the app to play each matchup for themselves. Everyone who watches one of the MLS games inside the app will get in-game currency, along with a one-month free trial to MLS Season Pass.
MLS executive Camilo Durana said collaborating with EA underscores the league’s “commitment to pushing boundaries.”
2023 marked the inaugural season of Apple’s 10-year media rights package with MLS, but viewership numbers have been less than stellar.
The reported underperformance of EA Sports FC was cited as part of the recent wave of mass layoffs at EA. The next entry in the series for console is expected to release in September. For now, EA is trying to make more money from the game by selling the franchise’s first-ever paid season pass.
