One Of 2023’s Best Games Is Crossing Over With Dead By Daylight

Behavior Interactive has revealed that Alan Wake will be coming to Dead By Daylight on January 30. He is the newest playable Survivor in the game and is currently available in a time-limited public test server on Steam.

A new trailer shows Alan Wake typing away on his typewriter while in the Dark Place. As he’s trying to escape, he ends up writing himself into Dead by Daylight’s universe and into the thralls of The Entity, its cosmic embodiment of evil.

Alan Wake has several perks as a Survivor. His Champion of Light perk gives him 50% Haste when he’s holding a flashlight. When he successfully blinds a Killer, it also inflicts 20% Hindered status for six seconds. His Boon is Illumination, and Survivors within his boon’s totem range can see the aura of all chests and generators in blue.

His last perk is Deadline, which activates when he’s injured, and causes Skill Checks to appear more frequently when repairing or healing and appear in random places. Additionally, the penalty for missing Skill Checks is halved.

This isn’t the first horror game crossover Dead By Daylight has received. The game also had crossovers with Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head and Resident Evil multiple times. Alan Wake 2, the first full0on horror game in the series, was also one of GameSpot’s top 10 best games of 2023.
